Cinnamon Toast (Pioneer Woman)

4 approaches to making cinnamon toast but only one sounds heavenly!!

From Pioneer Woman, whose recipe--and reviews of other, lesser methods--is here.  (Scroll down to Approach #4, which starts when you see two sticks of butter...)

NOTES:

1. Butter should be softened.

2. Be ready to commit a whole lot of butter to a whole lot of bread if you go with this recipe!

3. Bread can be white bread; French bread; etc.

4. Uses both baking and broiling in the oven.

5. Half recipe is below; full recipe amounts are in parentheses.

INGREDIENTS:

1 stick butter, softened. (2 sticks)
1/2 cup sugar (1 cup sugar)
between 1 to 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon (2-3 tsp)
between 1 to 1-1/2 tsp vanilla (2-3 tsp)
8-10 slices of bread (16-20??)

PREPARATION:

1. Oven to 350

2. Smash the softened butter with a fork.

3. Mix in the sugar and cinnamon.

4. Add and mix in the vanilla until combined and creamy.

5. Spread about a Tbl of the butter mixture on each slice of bread, covering all the way to the edges to prevent burnt crusts.

6. Place bread on cookie sheet.

7. Heat in 350 oven for 10 min or so; then broil for a few minutes and watch carefully so bread won't burn!
