Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE CAKE in a MUG!

Our friend Peter Ornatek tweeked this recipe and shared it with us, though other versions can be found online.

NOTES:
1. If you substitute regular flour for the originally prescribed cake flour, the texture will be different.
2. Use Dutch cocoa to boost the chocolate flavor.
3. Sift dry ingredients together to help combine them.
4. At the bottom of the recipe is a note for how to add banana to this little "cup cake."
5. A similar recipe from America's Test Kitchen is for microwave-based molten cakes for two is now available.

This is called "the most dangerous chocolate cake in the world" because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

DRY INGREDIENTS
4 Tbl flour (cake flour can be used)
4 Tbl sugar
2 Tbl cocoa (Dutch cocoa, preferred)
3 Tbl choc chips (optional)

WET INGREDIENTS
1 egg
3 Tbl milk
3 Tbl oil
A small splash of vanilla extract

1 large coffee mug (Microwave safe)

PREPARATION
1. Sift and mix dry ingredients in a medium bowl with a spout. Set aside.

2. In a small bowl, combine wet ingredients and mix thoroughly.

3. Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until combined.

4. Pour batter into large mug and heat on high for 3 minutes (at 1000 watts). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

5. Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. Serve with vanilla ice cream and possibly some chocolate syrup.

FOR BANANA-CHOCOLATE CAKE

1. Reduce the oil to 2 Tbl.

2. Add 4 teaspoons of mashed over-ripe banana to the wet ingredients.

3. Prepare and heat as above.
